Paul Rechberger

Paul Rechberger is entering his third season as coach with the Golden Knights' Alpine Ski team in 2023-24 season.

Rechberger served as the Golden Knights' assistant in 2021-22, helping guide the men's team to a fourth place tie at the USCSA National Championships while the women came in 16th place in their first appearance at the nationals since 2017. As the team's leader in 2022-23, the men finished ninth and the women took 10th at an abbreviated USCSA Nationals, as the championships were shortened due to weather.

A graduate of Castleton University in May 2021 with a degree in Business Administration/Management, Rechberger excelled on the slopes and in the classroom, twice earning CoSIDA Academic All-American At-Large honors along with being named a USCSA Scholar All-American on three occasions. Rechberger achieved USCSA All-American status three times in the slalom, claiming the USCSA National Championship in 2018 by more than full second, which helped him achieve the title of overall USCSA National Champion that same season. He finished third in the giant slalom at the nationals in 2018, placed third in the slalom at the USCSA Nationals in 2019, and came in sixth in the same event in 2020.

A proven leader, Rechberger was Castleton's Senior Class President in 2021, and the recipient of the Distinguished Senior of the Year Award (out of 400 graduating seniors) thanks to being named to the President's List in all eight semesters. Originally from Wilhering, Austria, Rechberger also served as a military instructor in the Austrian Armed Forces.
