Julia Anderson

Julia Anderson is entering her first season as assistant coach for the Golden Knights' Alpine Skiing program for the 2018-19 season.

Anderson, who graduated in Spring 2018 from UMass-Amherst with a degree in Animal Science as well as a degree in Sustainable Food and Farming from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, spent four years with the UMass Alpine Ski team.

Anderson was a standout for the Minutemen and Minutewomen in the USCSA from 2015-2018. Her best year came during her sophomore campaign when she finished 16th in the MacConnell Division, including two top-10 finishes. After missing her junior season to injury, Anderson closed out her collegiate career by coming in 22nd overall, including a season-best 12th in the giant slalom at Whiteface Mountain. In three years of competitive collegiate skiing, Anderson scored in 27 of the team's 30 races, including all 10 in both her sophomore and senior years.

During her final three years at UMass, Anderson served as the program's president, managing the team's financial accounts, attending MacConnell Division coaches' meetings and setting courses.
