VILLA - CLARKSON ATHLETIC HALL of FAME

VillaHOF

A deeply committed Clarkson alumnus and one of the University’s most passionate supporters of Clarkson Hockey, Adrian Villa has focused his lifelong enthusiasm for the sport through philanthropy, centering on strengthening Clarkson’s competitive position at the national level through investments in student-athletes, facilities, and coaching excellence.

A graduate of the Class of 1974 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Villa has enjoyed a successful professional career in engineering and defense-related industries, including work with American Science & Engineering, Inc and Raytheon Technologies, much of it overseas in the Middle East. His international career has afforded him a unique global perspective, though Clarkson remains a central and enduring priority in his life.

Villa's generosity to Clarkson spans more than a decade and includes the Adrian P. Villa Men’s Hockey Player Endowed Scholarship, the Terry Yurkiewicz ’66 Scholarship, funding for team travel, and transformational leadership gifts to enhance hockey training facilities. Most notably, he committed significant funds to equip the hockey strength and conditioning space in the Cheel Campus Center expansion, naming the facility in honor of Phillip J. “Pinky” Ryan ’35, a figure whose legacy deeply resonated with him. An additional naming within the Collins Hockey Coaches Suite recognizes Villa’s own dedication to the program.

An avid fan who regularly attends games and maintains close relationships with the coaching staff, Adrian Villa is motivated not by recognition, but by a desire to see Clarkson hockey return to sustained national prominence. In 2024, he reaffirmed this commitment, expressing strong confidence in the University’s coaching leadership and pledging continual support of the hockey program. Most recently, Villa also contributed to the Walker Center renovations which were completed in the spring of 2025.

Known for his loyalty, candor, and enthusiasm for Clarkson athletics, Adrian Villa exemplifies alumni leadership through purposeful, impact-driven philanthropy.
