- Juana Baribeau's 18th goal of the year came with 1:44 remaining in the third period as she connected on a shot from just over the redline to tie the Golden Knights' NCAA quarterfinal game against the University of Minnesota 2-2, forcing overtime. The Gophers were able to hold of Clarkson in the extra session and pulled out a 3-2 win.

- Jerry Coleman started the first four games of the season well, going 11-for-16 (.688 batting average) with a 1.188 slugging percentage thanks to two home runs and a triple. He also drove in six runs and scored seven times.
