Tyler Cline, a 2015 Clarkson University graduate, enters his fourth season as head coach of the Golden Knights in 2026–27. Since taking over the program in 2023, Cline has focused on player development, consistent scoring improvement, and building a competitive team culture. In his first two seasons, Clarkson golfers continued to make measurable gains across all performance areas.

Cline brings significant competitive experience to the program, having played at the collegiate, amateur, and professional levels. At Clarkson, he was a key contributor throughout his four-year career and steadily elevated his performance, particularly in his final two seasons. Over 35 rounds as a junior and senior, he averaged 74.91 strokes per 18, including second-place finishes at the Liberty League Championship Qualifiers in fall 2013 and the Liberty League Championships in spring 2015. In the former of those two events, Cline shot 139, including a six-under 66 on day two of the Liberty League Qualifier. Cline was named a PING Division III All-American Honorable Mention in 2013-14 and was PING All-Region in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. He also earned Liberty League All-Star honors on three occasions.   

Cline's growth as a collegiate player laid the foundation for several years of high-level competition after graduation. After college, he spent multiple seasons playing professionally, gaining experience across developmental tours and regional championships before returning to the amateur ranks in 2022. Since then, he has resumed competing in top amateur and regional events. His continued involvement in tournament golf provides his players with firsthand insight into preparation, course management, and having a competitive mindset.

Cline leverages his full range of playing and coaching experience to guide Clarkson’s student-athletes. His approach emphasizes structured practice, data-driven improvement, and learning to compete with confidence. Under his leadership, the Golden Knights continue to evolve into a program defined by discipline, steady development, and a strong team identity. The team's scoring average has dropped throughout his time with the Knights, going from a 308.22 scoring average in 2023-24 to 307.79 (and two tournament wins) in 2024-25. In the fall of 2025, Clarkson won three tournaments and averaged 302.92 strokes for its team score in seven events. 

Aaron Walsh

Aaron Walsh is entering his first season as the assistant coach for the Clarkson University Golf team in 2026-27.

Walsh was a four-year member of the Golden Knights' program and the lone senior for the program a year ago, earning Liberty League All-Academic honors for the third time while majoring in Chemical Engineering. Over the course of his four seasons with the Green and Gold, Walsh competed in 19 tournaments (32 total rounds), posting a career scoring average of 80.81. He had two top-10 finishes as a sophomore, tying for seventh in a pair of tournaments, and his best career showing came last year when he tied for fifth in the season-opening tournament.
