Sherry Dobbs is entering his third season as head coach for the Golden Knights' Women's Basketball team in 2025-26. Following his first season at the helm in 2023-24, the Golden Knights more than doubled their win total last year.

Dobbs began his coaching career nearly three decades ago as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at SUNY Potsdam in the mid-1990s, where the team earned 20 victories over the course of the 1995-96 and 1996-97 campaigns. Following a one-year stint at St. Lawrence University, Dobbs moved on to Ithaca College, serving a dual role as assistant coach for the softball and men's basketball teams for a stretch of five seasons. As assistant for the Bombers' softball program, Ithaca reached the NCAA Division III College World Series on four occasions, including a national title in 2002.

Dobbs returned to Potsdam as the Bears' men's basketball coach in 2003, and spent the next decade guiding SUNY Potsdam, earning SUNYAC Coach of the Year honors in 2005 in a season in which he guided the team to the NCAA Elite Eight. The Bears enjoyed multiple NCAA Tournament appearances in his tenure.

Most recently, Dobbs was the top assistant coach for Hamilton College of the New England Small College Athletic Conference. From 2017-2023, Dobbs helped produce 97 victories (.708 winning percentage), including three appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2018, 2019, 2023) with a pair of top-15 finishes in the final D3hoops.com poll.

Dobbs has a lengthy track record in recruiting, which included scouring the Northeast for student-athletes while at SUNY Potsdam and internationally for Hamilton College, where he recruited players from Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and Turkey in addition to those from North America.

A graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh with a degree in history, and a master's degree from SUNY Potsdam in Secondary Social Studies Education, Dobbs has also taught Physical Education classes at the college level for nearly two decades.

JeffreyNicole202526HSNicole Jeffrey is entering her first season as the top assistant coach for the Golden Knights’ Women’s Basketball program for the 2025-26 season.

Jeffrey graduated from St. Lawrence University with a major in Communications in 2023 and then achieved her master’s degree in Leadership from there as well.

Jeffrey had an unusual path as a student-athlete, partially due to COVID, playing for the Saints’ basketball team in three non-consecutive seasons while also serving as an assistant coach in between, doing so in her first year as a graduate student (2023-24). Over the course of 73 games, Jeffrey accumulated 130 points, 227 rebounds, 57 assists, 55 steals, and 17 blocked shots. She was also on the Saints’ Women’s outdoor track and field squad in 2025.

In addition to serving as the Saints’ assistant coach in 2023-24, Jeffrey has also coached youth basketball in her hometown of Norwich, NY.
