Carter Lincoln begins his seventh season as the Clarkson University Men's Soccer coach for the 2026-27 season.

During Lincoln's first season back at the helm of the Golden Knights in 2025, the team went 7-5-5 and earned a spot in the Liberty League Tournament, bowing out after a tie in the first round against Union College.

In his first tenure with the Golden Knights (2018-2022), Lincoln produced a 34-24-11 record over four campaigns (.572 winning percentage) and coached four United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections, including one All-American. In just his second year at the helm for the Knights, Clarkson advanced to the Liberty League Championship game. Following the non-season for COVID in the fall of 2020, Clarkson posted 13 wins in two years, recording a 9-4-3 record in 2022 which also included the team's first national ranking in two decades. Lincoln then two years as an assistant coach at Syracuse University, the NCAA Division I National Champions in 2022. In his two seasons with the Orange, Lincoln helped the team to a 16-12-10 record including an NCAA Tournament in 2023 where the team advanced to the second round. 

Before his stint with the Golden Knights, Lincoln was the assistant coach at his alma mater, University of Vermont, for one year. Lincoln's coaching career actually began at Clarkson when he was the graduate assistant coach in 2015-16 under Chris Taylor. A native of Essex Junction, VT, Lincoln holds a USSF 'C' level coaching license.

Lincoln graduated from University of Vermont in 2015 with a degree in Community and International Development and then received his master's degree in Management at SUNY Potsdam in 2020. He played for the Catamounts for three years after transferring from Division II Southern New Hampshire University. Over those four total seasons, he appeared in 45 games with 10 starts, scoring one goal. 



Jonah Stekly

Jonah Stekly is entering his second year as Golden Knights' Men's Soccer assistant coach for the 2026-27 season. 

Stekly, a recent graduate of Bryant University with a degree in Psychology, played four seasons of Division I soccer. He spent the first two years of his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina University, playing in 20 games, including seven starts from 2021-22. He was at Bryant in 2023-24 as a midfielder, as the team went 26-8-6 in that run with an NCAA Tournament appearance.  

Stekly started his coaching career once the season completed, functioning as an assistant in the second semester for the Bulldogs. He has already completed the United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Courses 1 and 2 as qualifications. During the summer of 2026, he served as an assistant coach for the Vermont Green of USL2, helping guide the team to its second straight league title. 

A member of the Dean's List at Bryant, Stekly has also played semi-professional soccer in Mallorca Spain, competing with CF Soller in 2019 and 2020 and then Son Veri CF in 2021. 

Stekly will continue his education at Clarkson University as he works towards his MBA.

Demba Ba
Men's Soccer - Assistant Coach

Ba is entering his third full campaign with the Golden Knights' men's soccer program in 2026-27. 

Ba graduated with a Business degree from SUNY Canton in 2019 and played for the Kangaroos for two seasons after completing his associate's degree from Monroe College in New Rochelle, NY. In his two seasons with the Roos, Ba played in 37 games with 23 starts, competing for over 2000 minutes with four goals and an assist for nine points. Ba has served as the St. Lawrence Central varsity coach since 2019 and is currently just shy of US Soccer National D License.  



Daniel Medina
Men's Soccer - Assistant Coach

Medina is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the Golden Knights' men's soccer program in 2026-27. 

Medina spent the last two years with the Golden Knights after transferring to Clarkson prior to the 2024 season. He was an immediate standout in the midfield for the Knights, earning Liberty League First-Team All-Star status in his junior campaign. Over the ourse of 29 games, Medina produced 13 points on five goals and three assists.
