Clarkson Athletics Online Giving
This fundraising campaign aims to provide Clarkson University students and student-athletes with a quality, multi-purpose facility for athletic practice and competition and University recreation. Renovations to Walker Center and construction of a turf field will not only support our lacrosse and soccer teams, but also other varsity and intramural teams, clubs and community programs, and University recreational activities.

The turf field would serve as a durable, lighted venue for our varsity teams to hold practice during the winter months. It would also facilitate club and intramural competition, which attracts more than 80 percent of Clarkson students. The addition of this new field would create more availability at Schuler Indoor Recreation Center, allowing students across campus to benefit from the new facility.
The all-inclusive, estimated cost of the turf project is $1.5 to $2 million. Complementing the turf field project is the restoration of the University’s former hockey complex, Walker Center. In addition to serving as a multi-purpose recreation venue for the University, collegiate, intramural and club teams, the facility would provide space for community activities and youth sports groups. This would enhance Clarkson’s dedicated commitment to the Potsdam community. The complex will be powered by state-of-the art fuel cell technology, coinciding with Clarkson’s development of alternative fuel resources. The completed Walker Center and Hantz Field Athletic Complex will also improve the appearance of the eastern entrance to the campus and bring this Complex up to par with competing athletic and recreation facilities.
If you would like to make this dream of a turf field a reality, consider making a multi-year gift commitment to the project. Pledge commitments can be extended over a three-to-five year period.
