Knights Run at Roberts Wesleyan

Rochester, NY – For the second straight weekend, it was Drew Reigelsperger and Alexandra Simon leading the way for the Clarkson University Cross Country team, as the Golden Knights competed at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University.

The Golden Knights' men finished in the middle of the pack, taking 10th out of 18 teams with 249 points, while the women, who brought just five runners, finished 16th out of 18 squads with 445 points in their race.

A week after just edging out his best career time by less than a second in Canton, Reigelsperger had another personal best in Rochester, placing 10th in the field of 250 runners with a time of 25 minutes, 54.2 seconds over the 8000-meter course. James Lynch was the next to cross the finish line for the Knights, taking 52nd in 26:53.2, roughly a minute behind Reigelsperger. The next three runners for the Knights all were less than a minute behind Lynch, as Frank Consolazio came in 65th in 27:08.2, Jack Zieber took 72nd in 27:17.0, and Wyatt Worcester rounded out the Golden Knights' team scoring by placing 91st in 27:47.0. Clarkson's next two runners to use as alternate places were Spencer Reese in 120th in 28:07.2 and Brady Krenzer in 131st place with a time of 28:16.8.

Clarkson lacked the wiggle room on the women's side as only five runners were active for the weekend as opposed to the 15 for the men's team. Alexandra Simon just missed out on the top half of runners, placing 107th in the field of 177 competitors, finishing the 5000-meter course in 21:14.0. Three of her teammates completed the race in the next 30 seconds, headlined by Meagan Speizer in 113th in 21:25.3. Janneke Baks and Skylar Francis were separated by a half-second, as Baks came in 120th in 21:41.8 and Francis was 121st in 21:42.3. Kelly Lahiff finished off the Knights' scoring by taking 148th with a time of 22:59.2.
