The Men's and Women's Clarkson Hockey Programs have published their 2025-26 schedules. Each team will host some big national opponents and participate in a Thanksgiving Weekend in season Tournament.
Coach Desrosiers will open his 17th season behind the bench on the road in New England, with a two game set at Merrimack on September 26th and 27th. The Knights will host their home opener the weekend after when the UConn Huskies visit Cheel on Oct. 3rd and 4th. Clarkson will stay with the Hockey East the next weekend and have a reunion with a former coach in Matt Kelly when the Knights travel to Providence on Oct. 17th and 18th. Coach Kelly was a big part of the Knights first national championship in 2014.
Clarkson opens ECAC play when they travel to face another recent assistant coach in Tony Maci at Union on Oct. 24th. The Knights will face off vs Union for the first time in their new arena, Mohawk Harbor. Clarkson will also take part in a home and home non league set of games with St. Lawrence again this season. On Nov. 13th the Saints will head to Cheel for a 11:00 am puck drop for the 3rd version of the North Country Youth Game. In 2023, the Knights drew their largest crowd ever when over 3000 students from schools across the region pack Cheel for a great game between the two top ECAC rivals.
A highlight of the Women's schedule is traveling to the D1 in DC Tournament in Washington, DC on Nov. 28th and 29th for a rematch of the 2024 NCAA Semi-Final vs Ohio State and St. Coud State on Saturday.
Coach JF Houle will jump into his 2nd season with some exciting non league match ups and a return trip to Lake Placid for the Adirondack Invitational in November. Clarkson will travel to Canisius to open the season on Oct. 3rd, then host Western Ontario for an exhibition game at Cheel on Sunday Oct. 5th at 4:00 pm. The Knights will travel to Penn State to face the Nittnay Lions on Thursday Oct. 9th and Friday the 10th, then head to Rochester to face RIT at the Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester on Oct. 18th.
The Knights home opener will be on Friday Oct. 24th when Clarkson will welcome North Dakota to Cheel for a two game series. The following weekend will be family weekend on campus and Clarkson will host Lake Superior State on Halloween and Michigan Tech on Nov. 1.
Clarkson will open ECAC play in the same fashion as the women, facing Union in their new rink against a former assistant coach in Josh Hauge. Nov. 7th and 8th will be that opening ECAC weekend in the Capital Region and they will open ECAC play at home the following weekend, Nov. 14th and 15th. The home and home with ECAC travel partner, St. Lawrence will be on January 23rd and 24th.
The Knights will travel to Lake Placid again over the Thanksgiving Weekend for the Adirondack Invitational for games against UMass Lowell and Alaska Fairbanks. The US National U18 Development Team will visit Cheel on Dec.13th for the 2nd time in 3 years.
Clarkson will also look to make a return trip to Lake Placid for the ECAC Championship weekend March 20th and 21st.
