Clarkson to face Dartmouth in ECAC Semi-Finals

The Clarkson Golden Knights will make their 35th appearance in the ECAC Semi-Finals and first since 2022, when they face the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday night at 7:00 pm at the Herb Brooks 1980 Arena in Lake Placid, NY.  

Clarkson earned their birth after a tight 3 game series against Harvard, in which all 3 games were 1 goal affairs.   Clarkson got an overtime goal from Luka Sukovic on Sunday to send the Knights back to Lake Placid.  Dartmouth was able to upset Union in the Quarterfinals to earn their 2nd straight trip to Lake Placid.  

The Knights are 15-19 all time in semi-final action but 6-5 in Lake Placid.  Clarkson has faced Dartmouth twice in the semi-final round, once in the 2007 run to the ECAC Championship, a 5-4 win and a 6-4 loss in the 1980 ECAC semi-finals.  This season, Clarkson won a 3-2 game in Hanover and then a 4-1 victory over the Big Green at Cheel.  

Clarkson is getting great production from their top line featuring ECAC Player of the Year, Ayrton Martino, Ellis Rickwood, and Ryan Richardson, with the trio combining for 110 points so far.  The Knights are also bolstered by 6 more forwards with double digit point production and 3 blueliners with 64 points combined.  Special Team has been a bright spot this season, especially the penalty kill.  Clarkson is 6th in the nation for Penalty Kill %, with 86.1%,  (99 for 115 attempts) and 7th in the nation and top in the ECAC for Short Handed Goals with 6.  Garrett Dahm has 3 shorthanded goals on the season, which is 2nd in the NCAA.   The Power Play has improved to 5th best in the NCAA at 26.4% success rate.  The Knights have out shot their opponents in 24 of 37 games this season.   They are averaging 27.62 shots while allowing 24.54 shots per game.

The Semi Final winner will face the winner of Quinnipiac and Cornell which will play at 4:00 pm.  All Game can be streamed on ESPN+ and heard live with the voice of the Golden Knights, Bob Ahlfeld on B9.3 FM.
