Nine members of the Clarkson University Men's and Women's Soccer teams were rewarded for their excellence on the pitch this fall as the 2025 College Sports Communicator Academic All-District Soccer teams were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Selections must have a 3.50 grade-point average or better with at least sophomore athletic and academic standing to be considered. Additionally, nominees must compete in at least 90% of athletic competitions, or start 66% of a program's games.

From the women's soccer team, senior Paige Ford, juniors Callie Abel and Riley Irvin, and sophomores Rachael Matthews, Isabelle Wood, and Aurora Zary were the selections, while the men's soccer team saw seniors Kyle Otis and Tayte Wong as well as sophomore Paul Rolland achieve the honor. Ford, Abel, and Otis were also named to the CSC Academic All-District list last year.

Abel, a Chemical Engineering major, started the first 11 games of the season but missed the final portion of the year due to injury. In those first 11 games, she was off the field for only 52 minutes, playing full time in 10 games.

Ford, an Engineering and Management major, ranked second on the team in both points (9) and goals (4) after missing the tail end of her junior year due to injury. She returned to play 1065 minutes, starting all 15 contests as a senior.

Irvin, a Chemical Engineering major, was a stalwart on defense, ranking second on the team in minutes played with 1291, playing full time in 14 of 15 contests in her junior year.

Matthews, an Engineering and Management major, was another steady performer for Clarkson, leading the team with 1330 minutes and playing full time in 14 of 15 games, coming off for only 20 minutes in once game.

Wood, a Biochemistry major, was the team' starting goalkeeper as a sophomore, getting the nod in 11 contests and posting a 1.91 goals against average.

Zary, a Civil Engineering major, played in 14 of 15 games as a sophomore and produced a goal and an assist over the course of 613 minutes.

Otis, a Software Engineering major, was picked as a Liberty League All-Star as a junior and was a standout for all four seasons at Clarkson, including the fall of 2025 where he was second on the team in minutes played (1264) among field players.

Rolland, a Mechanical Engineering major, was named a Liberty League Second-Team All-Star this fall as he led the team in points (11), goals (4), shots (19), and shots on goal (12).

Wong, an Applied Mathematics and Statistics major, was a Liberty League All-Star as a sophomore but missed most of the season last year with an injury. He returned to be among the top players once again, spending more than 1000 minutes on the pitch for the Knights in 2025.
