For the third time in as many weeks, a Clarkson University student-athlete has earned a top academic honor as Hannah Yorkey of the Golden Knights' Cross Country program was picked as a CoSIDA Academic All-American Third-Team member for Track and Field/Cross Country when the organization announced its selections on Tuesday afternoon.

Yorkey was Clarkson's first ever selection for the CoSIDA Track and Field/Cross Country All-District team only a few weeks ago, and became the latest CoSIDA Academic All-American for Clarkson, joining Olivia Zoeller (Softball, Second-Team) and Evan Wetzel (At-Large, First-Team).  This marks just the sixth time in Clarkson's history that three or more student-athletes earned CoSIDA Academic All-American honors in a school year, along with 2018-19 (five), 2013-14 (five), 1999-2000 (four), 1998-99 (four), and 1994-95 (three).

Yorkey's selection came in large part due to her excellence in the classroom, where she had a 4.00 grade-point average through her first seven semesters while majoring in both Biomolecular Science and Chemistry. Yorkey enjoyed one of the best seasons ever for a Golden Knight cross country runner, earning Liberty League First-Team All-Star honors at the conference championships where she finished seventh in a field of over 100 runners. She also earned All-Region status by taking 29th at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in mid-November, narrowly missing an opportunity to run at the NCAA National Championships.
