Hannah Yorkey Named CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 Cross Country/Track and Field

Senior Hannah Yorkey of the Clarkson University Cross Country team was named the school's latest CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 selection when the organization announced its picks for its Track and Field/Cross Country teams on Thursday afternoon.

Yorkey is Clarkson's first ever selection for the Track and Field/Cross Country teams, as significant focus usually goes to those who excel in cross country in the fall as well as track and field for indoor (winter) and outdoor (spring). However, Yorkey's resume was hard to ignore, as she posted a flawless 4.00 grade-point average through her first seven semesters of undergraduate work while majoring in both Biomolecular Science and Chemistry.

To go along with her excellent work in the classroom, Yorkey was also one of the top female runners in program history. She was a Liberty League First-Team All-Star at the conference championships, finishing seventh in a field of over 100 runners, and also earned All-Region status by taking 29th at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in mid-November.

Yorkey will now advance to the national ballot, with the CoSIDA Academic All-American teams being announced in mid-June.
