Clinton, NY – Dylan Richard and Nathalie Chateauneuf headlined the Clarkson University Cross Country team's performance at the Hamilton Invitational as the Golden Knights finished in third and fourth place, respectively, in their last regular-season race in advance of the Cross Country Only Championships next weekend.

The Golden Knights' women claimed fourth among seven teams, finishing with 138 points, behind Hamilton (15), Ithaca (58), and LeMoyne (61) and ahead of Hartwick (144), Cazenovia (156), and SUNY Poly (176). Clarkson's men challenged for second but had to settle for third with 73 points, trailing only Hamilton (20) and LeMoyne (67), yet ahead of SUNY Poly (96), Ithaca (133), Onondaga Community College (172), and Fulton-Montgomery Community College (207).

The women raced in a 5000-meter event, with freshman Nathalie Chateauneuf taking 22nd among the 52 participants with a time of 21 minutes, 8.3 seconds. Classmate Meilin Lamanna was next in 33rd in 23:49.0 and sophomore Kylie Nowicki was one spot later in 34th in 24:09.6. Megan Edwards was 20 seconds behind Nowicki at 24:29.6, taking 38th, and Sydney Alexanian closed out Clarkson's team score by placing 42nd in 24:53.9. Madison Witt (43rd, 25:51.4) and Elizabeth Schneider (44th, 26:02.6) assured the Knights of fourth with their placements in the standings.

For the men, Dylan Richard became just the second different runner to take the top spot among Clarkson runners in 2022, coming in 11th place in a field of 77 runners, finishing the 8000-meter race in 27:28.9. Tyler Nickels was next for the Knights, taking 16th in 27:54.6, beginning a run of three straight Clarkson runners, as he was followed by Eric Nowak in 17th (27:58.0) and Andrew Wade in 18th (28:03.5). Caeden Bailey was just a few spots short of putting Clarkson in second, as he was the fifth runner for the Knights crossing the finish line in 29:22.4 for 30th place. Evan Baird (37th, 29:50.7) and Derek Ferreira (38th, 29:53.7) were the next runners for the Knights.
