CU Cross Country Preview - at Hamilton Invitational (10/8)

Saturday's race at the Hamilton Invitational will be the last "regular-season" event of the year for the Clarkson University Cross Country team, as the Golden Knights prepare for the final postseason events of 2022.

The Course: The Hamilton Cross Country Course has two distances for its women's events, but Saturday's run will be a 5000-meter race. The Continentals' men's course is 8000-meters.

The Women: For the past two races, freshman Nathalie Chateauneuf has served as Clarkson's top runner, finishing off the 6K at St. Lawrence in 25:32.8 and the 4K in Middlebury with a time of 18:25.0. This will be her first 5K of the year after missing the opening race in Plattsburgh. Classmate Ava Frost has placed second among Golden Knights in each of the team's three races, finishing behind Ella Weldy at Plattsburgh and Chateauneuf for both the Middlebury and St. Lawrence races. Meilin Lamanna, another first-year collegian, was third for Clarkson at the Hoffmann Invitational and fourth at the first two races of the year for the Knights.

The Men: Clarkson's men have had consistency at the top of their team scoring with sophomore Tyler Nickels producing the top times all year for the Golden Knights. His first two 6K races had times that were only 19 seconds apart. Freshman Andrew Wade was even more consistent in his 6K races, as the two times were just 4.2 seconds apart. Nickels and Wade have placed one-two for Clarkson at all three events in 2022, but the third spot has wavered. Eric Nowak, Caeden Bailey, and Dylan Richard have all taken the bronze spot for Clarkson in its first races of 2022.
