Geneva, NY – Eric Nowak and Kylie Nowicki were the top finishers for the Clarkson University Cross Country program as the Golden Knights competed at the annual Cross Country-Only Championships, with the men winning the team title once again at Seneca Lake State Park.

The Golden Knights' women were fifth among nine competing teams with 107 points, trailing William Smith (29), Morrisville State (85), Hilbert (87), and Medaille (91) and tied with Keuka (107) while ahead of non-scoring teams SUNY Canton, Paul Smiths, and Cazenovia. The men were first by a considerable margin with 26 points, ahead of Hobart (43), Morrisville State (56), Paul Smiths (128), Hilbert (170), SUNY Canton (173), Keuka (176), and Medaille (no score).

In the men's race, Clarkson had five of the top eight runners to easily take top honors as a team, as Nowak finished second out of 72 runners with a time of 28 minutes, 10.4 seconds in the 8000-meter event, less than nine seconds off the pace set by the top runner. Dylan Richard was next for the Knights, finishing less than four seconds after Nowak in third in 28:14.0. Clarkson then had a string of three runners in the six through eight spots, as Tyler Nickels came in sixth in 28:26.4, Andrew Wade placed seventh in 28:30.2, and Caeden Bailey took eighth with a time of 28:46.1 to close out Clarkson's team scoring. Derek Ferreira (16th, 30:12.2) and Evan Baird (17th, 30:19.1) were the reserve runners for the Knights' scoring.

The women's team was a little shorthanded and was unable to keep their team title run alive. Kylie Nowicki took 24th in the 6000-meter race with a time of 29:39.5 as the top women's runner for the Knights. She was followed by Meilin Lamanna in 27th (29:50.9) and Megan Edwards was two spots later in 29th in 30:11.4. Madison Witt then came in 33rd in 31:36.3 and Sydney Alexanian placed 40th in 33:18.3 to round out Clarkson's team score. Emily Marshall was unable to finish and was the only other Clarkson runner to participate in the event.
