Saratoga Springs, NY – Senior Hannah Yorkey finished 31.3 seconds off the pace to headline the Clarkson University Cross Country team's performance at the Liberty League Championships, held Saturday morning at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

The Golden Knights' women finished sixth among nine teams with 125 points, trailing St. Lawrence (58), Rensselaer (62), Ithaca (69), Vassar (84), and RIT (119), but well ahead of William Smith (225), Union (242), and Bard (256). The Clarkson men also were in sixth place with 177 points, behind Rensselaer (36), Vassar (38), Ithaca (82), St. Lawrence (96), and RIT (131) and ahead of Union (200), Hobart (259), and Bard (292).

Yorkey finished seventh in a field of 108 runners with a time of 23 minutes, 51.0 seconds over the course of the 6000-meter race, her second fastest time of the year in an event that long, helping her achieve Liberty League First-Team All-Star status. Elizabeth Fawwaz was the next runner to cross the finish line for the Golden Knights, ending up in 13th place with a time of 24:32.4, placing her on the Liberty League Second-Team All-Star squad. Freshmen Kelsey Hamilton and Ella Weldy were the next two runners for Clarkson, finishing out the event with times of 25:26.2 and 25:51.5, respectively, and Gabriella Broga closed out Clarkson's team score when she cross the line in 26:13.4, good enough for 46th. Melissa Brown (59th, 26:59.0) and Sarah Weeks (60th, 27:02.5) were the next two runners for Clarkson.

For the men, Kevin Cronin just missed out on the named conference all-star teams but still gained Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star status by coming in 15th in the field of 110 runners, finishing the 8000-meter course in 26 minutes, 18.5 seconds, which was 39 seconds off the pace of the top runner. Tyler Nickels and Eric Nowak were also in the top half of the field, with Nickels coming in 49th in 27:57.2 and Nowak taking 51st with a time of 28:02.4. The next four runners for Clarkson were bunched together and any combination of their finishes would still have netted the Knights their sixth-place showing. Simon Zehr was slightly ahead of the group, coming in 62nd with a time of 28:33.4 and Angus Cropley came in 65th in 28:44.9. He was less than two seconds quicker than both Dylan Richard (66th, 28:45.6) and Riley Sawyer (67th, 28:46.4).

Clarkson's top runners will compete in the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in two weeks as several Golden Knights will be seeking individual spots at the NCAA National Championships.
