Sullivan Places 121st at NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships

Winneconne, WI – Graduate student Abigail Sullivan of the Clarkson University Women's Cross Country team finished fourth among Liberty League entrants and 121st overall at the NCAA Division III Cross Country National Championships on Saturday afternoon, hosted by Wisconsin-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Course.

Sullivan was the first female runner in program history to reach the NCAA Division III National Championships, joining Pete Rickert ('80), Alex Benway ('12) and Dan Fritz ('14) from the Clarkson men's team to participate at the final race of the season.

Sullivan was a little bit ahead of middle of the pack in 121st out of 279 total runners. The middle of the pack was difficult to navigate as a total of 24 runners finished within five seconds either way of Sullivan's placement. She finished the event with a time of 22 minutes, 42.5 seconds. The pace setter from Washington-St. Louis finished in 20:55.0 while the Liberty League's top time came from Rensselaer runner Andrea Squeri (22:09.5, 51st). Autumn Grim of RPI (22:26.7, 85th place) and Ashley Walker of St. Lawrence (22:36.3, 106th) were the only other Liberty League runners to outpace Sullivan.
