Clarkson Puts in Impressive Offensive Display in 19-15 Season-Opening Win over Keene State

Freshman Alyssa Cristaldi (North Syracuse, NY) enjoyed an impressive debut for the Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse team as she came within one goal of tying the program’s record for most goals in a game, tallying eight in the Golden Knights19-15 victory over Keene State in the season opener in Florida on Monday afternoon.

Five Knights accounted for all of the scoring as Clarkson jumped out to a 10-6 first-half lead en route to its highest goal output in two seasons. Rookie Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) also made a strong showing in her first collegiate game with a four-goal effort. Senior Kimberly Loucks (Waterloo, NY) and sophomore Laura Barlow (Latham, NY) chipped in three goals each, while freshman Kerrie Cline (Tuxedo, NY) added a single tally.

Sophomore Hannah Walters (Amherst, NH) made 20 saves for the Green and Gold.

Freshman Morgan McGowan (Stony Point, NY) picked up a team-high three groundballs for the Knights.
