Chestnut Hill, MA - Taking on 10th-ranked Boston College in the season-opener proved to be a challenging start for the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team as the Golden Knights seemed unable to click offensively in a 2-0 shutout loss to the Eagles Saturday afternoon at Kelley Rink.

The game was even besides the scoreboard, though the Golden Knights certainly didn't lack for scoring opportunities. Boston College was sloppy in taking numerous penalties, providing Clarkson with 10 power-play chances, but the Knights were unable to capitalize on any of those extra-man situations.

Boston College scored twice in the second period for all of the scoring the team would need. Kelli Stack scored at 3:23 of the period with assists going to Andrea Green and Tracy Johnson, and Danielle Welch scored at 15:16 with the helpers coming from Stephanie Olchow and Stack.

Clakrson out shot Boston College 26-25. Sophomore Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) made 23 saves for the Golden Knights while Molly Schaus stopped all 25 shots for the shutout for Boston College.
