Labrador Mountain - For the first time since 2002, the Clarkson University Women's Alpine Ski team failed to finish first in a USCSA Adriondack Division event, but the Golden Knights still had four individuals finish in the top 12 of both the giant slalom and slalom to place second overall, while the men's team, which is ranked 8th in the country according to the latest USCSA Nationwide Poll, continued its streak with another first place finish at the Hamilton Invitational.
The Clarkson women finished first in the giant slalom and second in the slalom to place second overall, ending a stretch of 26 consecutive victories in the Adirondack Division, and the men came in first in both events to finish first.
Freshman Meghan Cleason (Canandaigua, NY) claimed the second overall finish with a first-place showing in the giant slalom and a fourth-place finish in the slalom. Mallory Gilmore (Woodbury, CT)) was third and fifth, respectively, and Margot Epstein (Sodus, NY) came in eighth and 10th. Emma Masur (Wayne, NJ) also performed well by finishing 11th in the giant slaom and 12th in the slalom.
On the men's side, freshman Clayton Reynolds (Rome, NY) was the top overall performer as he finished sixth in the giant slalom and fourth in the slalom. Kurt Naser (Arlington, MA) won the giant slalom, but came in 10th in the slalom, while Nick Skowyra (St. Paul, MN) won the slalom for the Golden Knights. Drew Bonner (Killington, VT) was another top skier for the Knights, finishing eighth in the giant slalom and third in the slalom. Ben Cohen (Old Forge, NY) finished fourth in the giant slalom, and Jason Thayer (Macedon, NY) came in 10th in the giant and 18th in the slalom.
