Song Mountain - Senior Kurt Naser (Arlington, MA), a 2007 USCSA All-American, started off his final season of skiing the right way with a pair of first-place finishes in both the slalom and giant slalom to help lead the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team to a pair of victories at the USMA Invitational this weekend.

The Golden Knights' men's squad took first in both the slalom and giant slalom events, followed by Colgate and Rensselaer. On the women's side, Clarkson won the giant slalom, but came second in the slalom, holding on to win the overall combined title at the Invitational.

Naser won both the slalom and giant slalom, easing his way to the combined title for the third straight meet dating back to the past two events in the USCSA Adirondack Division. Freshman Clayton Reynolds (Rome, NY) debuted well with a third-place overall finish, including third in the giant slalom and fourth in the slalom. Drew Bonner (Killington, VT) came in second in the slalom and sixth in the giant slalom, while Corey VanLare (Fairport, NY), Nick Skowyra (St. Paul, MN), and Ben Cohen (Old Forge, NY) all finished in the top 11 in at least one event this weekend.

Freshman Meghan Cleason (Canandaigua, NY) enjoyed an impressive collegiate debut by finishing third in the overall standings. She placed second in the giant slalom and sixth in the slalom to lead the Knights to the win. Seniors Margot Epstein (Sodus, NY) and Mallory Gilmore (Woodbury, CT) also performed at their usual high levels. Epstein took third in the giant slalom and eighth in the slalom, while Gilmore was third in the slalom and sixth in the giant slalom. Sophomore Emma Masur (Wayne, NJ) helped push the Knights over the top with some solid runs down the hill, finishing 12th in the slalom and 13th in the giant slalom.
