The Clarkson University Men’s and Women’s Nordic Ski teams put in another strong effort over the weekend, finishing among the top teams at the Cornell Invitational, held at Salmon Hills in Redfield, NY on Saturday and Sunday.
Junior Whitney Olson (Scotia, NY) paced the Clarkson women to first place, winning the 10k skate pursuit with a total time of 1:12:12. She also finished first in the 9km classic. Classmate Sarah Gardner (Auburn, ME) place second (1:15:17) in the 10k event and second in the classic race. Senior Janine Laskoski (Scotia, NY) was third in the skate pursuit (1:18:33) and fourth in the classic.
Freshman Matt Delaney (Lake Placid, NY) led the Golden Knight men to second place overall, just one-point behind Cornell. Delaney was second in the 10k skate pursuit with a total time of 58:14. He also placed second in the 9km classic. Senior Chad Day (Honeoye Falls, NY) was third in the 10k skate pursuit (59:00) and third in the classic. Freshman Andrew Moskevitz (Enosburgh Falls, VT) was sixth overall in the skate pursuit (1:04:02) and sixth in the classic.
This weekend, Clarkson is the host at Prospect Nordic Center just East Of Bennington, VT.
