Sophomore Britney Selina (Thornhill, ONT) capped off an exceptional weekend up North with the lone goal in the Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team’s 1-0 victory over the University of Maine in Orono on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) improved her record to 4-0 with her second collegiate shutout, posting 16 saves.
The Golden Knights, who defeated Maine 2-0 on Friday, have won three straight to improve their record to 7-2-1.
Selina, who scored both goals in Friday’s win, came with through with the only tally on Saturday, finishing off an assist from senior defenseman Amanda Dittmer (Chatham, ONT) for a power-play goal at 6:44 of the first. Selina leads the Green and Gold in scoring with 13 points, including a team-high six goals.
Dahm, who has allowed just two goals through four games, posts a 0.50 goals against average and .966 save percentage.
Clarkson out shot the Black Bears 23-16. The Knights were 1-of-3 on the power play and killed off two Maine man-advantage opportunities.
After a six-game road trip, the Knights return to Cheel Arena this coming weekend, opening a four-game home stand by hosting ECAC Hockey rivals Rensselar and Union.
