Clarkson Struggles Continue at Cortland, 77-38

December 2, 2006

Cortland, NY - Freshman Michelle Reddinger (Baldwinsville, NY) scored 11 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team struggled from the floor in the opening half and could not come back from a significant deficit as the Golden Knights dropped a 77-38 decision to Cortland State on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights fell to 0-6 overall on the season and look to get on the winning track on Sunday when they face Alfred University. Cortland improved to 5-1.

The opening half saw Clarkson's shooting woes continue as the team didn't register a field goal until the 10:35 mark and shot only 3-for-30 in the first 20 minutes. The Knights improved in the second half and were 10-for-28, but already behind by more than 20 points in the opening half was more than Clarkson could overcome.

Sara Cavanaugh scored a game-high 17 points for Cortland and was helped out of Andrea Wilkinson's 14 points and Jessica Laing's 11 points. Cortland shot a steady 44.3 percent from the floor.
