HANLON PRODUCES FIVE POINTS IN 10-5 KNIGHTS LAX WIN

Liverpool, NY - Junior Brian Hanlon (Marcellus, NY) scored two goals and added three assists as the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team jumped into the winning column with a 10-5 non-league win over Oswego State Saturday afternoon at Liverpool High School.

The Golden Knights improved to 1-2 while the Lakers dropped to 1-1. Clarkson will play Cortland State next Wednesday in a 3:30 p.m. game at Potsdam State.

The Golden Knights took control of the contest early on with a 5-2 first quarter and held the Lakers to just one goal in the middle two frames. Freshman Steve Kennedy (Niskayuna, NY) scored two goals and classmate Jon Cathcart (Homer, NY) added a goal and an assist. Sophomore Mike McKenna (Camden, DE) added a goal and two assists and Timothy Drake (Rochester, NY) scored a goal and an assist. Richard Burritt (Oswego, NY), Jon Parks (Canton, NY) and AJ Heiligman (Webster, NY) also added a goal for the Golden Knights.

Chris Mitchell scored three times to lead the Lakers.

Senior Joe Zebrowski (Liverpool, NY) made seven saves for Clarkson in 60 minutes, facing 19 shots in all. The Golden Knights out shot Oswego State 42-19 and enjoyed a 54-39 advantage in ground balls.
