CLARKSON LACROSSE HURT by SLOW START

A slow start led to a tough loss for the Clarkson University Men’s Lacrosse team as the Golden Knights fell to 18th-ranked Amherst 15-6 in the second game of its spring trip in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday afternoon. Clarkson fell behind 4-0 after the first quarter and 7-1 at the half. The Jeffs (2-0) out scored the Green and Gold 4-3 in the third quarter and again over the final 15 minutes to pull away with the victory.
 
Junior Bryan Johnson (Newark, NY) led Clarkson with two goals. Senior Rich Burritt (Oswego, NY), juniors TJ Drake (Rochester, NY) and Brian Hanlon (Marcellus, NY) and freshman Jon Cathcart (Homer, NY) each chipped in one goal.
 
Senior Joe Zebrowski (Liverpool, NY) (8) and freshman Ryan DeJordy (Troy, NY) (4) combined for 12 saves in the Knights’ goal.
 
At 0-2, Clarkson returns to action on Saturday with a non-league game against Oswego State slated for Liverpool H.S. at 1:00 p.m.
