ALPINE TEAM DENIED USCSA NATIONAL BERTH FOR FIRST TIME IN SIX YEARS

Waterville Valley, NH - For the first time in six seasons, the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team will not be attending the USCSA National Championships as both the Golden Knights' men's and women's teams finished in sixth place, one spot away from qualifying, at the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships.

Only Josh Edlinger (Margaretville, NY) was able to crack the top 10 in any event, placing ninth in the slalom. Edlinger did not finish the giant slalom and was 18th overall in the combined standings. Freshman Kurt Naser (Arlington, MA) was the top finisher for both teams, placing 17th in the combined standings. Naser was 15th in the slalom and 16th in the giant slalom. Other top finishers in the men's combined standings were Greg Gorman (Claremont, NH), who came in 24th overall, and Brad White (Watertown, NY), who placed 39th.

Katelyn Wagner (Troy, NY) paced the women's team, finishing 18th in the combined standings with a 19th place finish in both the slalom and giant slalom. Krista Hoisington (Kingfield, ME) was 20th overall with a 14th place finish in the giant slalom. Mallory Gilmore (Woodbury, CT) came in 29th overall and Beth Davis (Marshfield, VT) finished in 40th place.
