KNIGHTS CLAIM ANOTHER VICTORY AT USMA INVITATIONAL

For the fourth consecutive week, senior Josh Edlinger (Margaretville, NY) won the combined individual title as the Clarkson University Alpine Ski teams claimed another sweep at the USMA Invitational held at Hunter Mountain.

The Golden Knights had the top three overall finishers on both the men's and women's sides as they cruised to another  team victory.

On the men's side, Edlinger was the top competitor in both the slalom and giant slalom for the Golden Knights, while freshman Kurt Naser (Arlington, MA) placed second in the slalom and third in the giant slalom to finish second in the overall standings. Placing third overall was Greg Gorman (Claremont, NH), who came in fourth in the slalom and fifth in the giant slalom. Other top finishers for the Golden Knights were Brad White (Watertown, NY), who placed third in the slalom and 16th in the giant slalom, and Toby Shaughnessy (Natick, MA), who came in seventh in the slalom and 10th in the giant slalom.

The women's side saw more movement in the individual and combined standings, but the top three finishers were still Clarkson athletes. Krista Hoisington (Kingfield, ME) finished first in the combined standings, thanks to a first-place showing in the slalom and a third-place finish in the giant slalom. Claiming second in the combined standings was freshman Mallory Gilmore (Woodbury, CT) as she finished third in the slalom and second in the giant slalom. Senior Beth Davis (Marshfield, VT) placed third overall and was second in the slalom and fourth in the giant slalom. Also earning points for the Golden Knights were Katelyn Wagner (Troy, NY), who finished first in the giant slalom and sixth in the slalom, and Margot Epstein (Sodus, NY), who finished seventh in the slalom and sixth in the giant slalom event.
