MORSE and SCHILLEMAT PACE KNIGHTS AT NCAA REGIONAL

Rochester, NY - Seniors Sam Morse (Camden, NY) and Kirsten Schillemat (Nelson, NH) each paced the Clarkson University Cross Country teams Saturday afternoon as both finished in the top 40 of their respective races at the NCAA Atlantic Regional held at the University of Rochester.

The women enjoyed a better showing overall at the event as the Golden Knights paced 15th out of 28 teams on the women's side and 19th out of 32 teams on the men's side.

Schillemat came in 38th place out of 207 runners in the women's race with a time of 24 minutes and six seconds in the 6,000-meter race. Senior Marianna Worczak (Eden, NY) was the next best finisher for Clarkson as she placed 69th overall. Junior Janine Laskoski (Scotia, NY) finished 101st overall, freshman Chelsea Reynolds (Endicott, NY) came in 108th and sophomore Sarah Gardner (Auburn, ME) closed out the scoring for Clarkson when she passed the finishing line in 114th place.

On the men's side, Sam Morse had the best showing of any runner for Clarkson as he came in 31st place out of 231 runners in 26 minutes and 38 seconds. Senior Ken Crawford (Buffalo, NY) closed out his solid career for the Knights in 75th place while classmate Dan Ver (Hamburg, NY) was 103rd. Freshman Mike Ives (Ogdensburg, NY) came in 135th and senior Dan Marker (Elmira, NY) was 145th.
