THORNTON SPECTACULAR in FINAL HOME MATCH FOR CU VOLLEYBALL

Potsdam, NY - Senior Stephanie Thornton (Corning, NY) enjoyed one of her greatest home matches in four seasons as she produced 10 kills without an error and added 15 digs to help lead the Clarkson University Volleyball team to a three-game match victory (30-15, 33-31, 30-24) over St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 16-11 on the season and have nearly guaranteed themselves a winning record for the fifth straight season. St. Lawrence dropped to 2-25 for the year.

Thornton, the Golden Knights' all-time leader in digs and aces, had 10 kills in 26 attempts without an error and also added an ace. Junior Claire Horvath (South Bend, IN) added nine kills and three aces while freshman Ashley Delaney (Mayfield, NY) produced nine kills and four solo blocks. Senior Suzanne Clarvoe (Hartwick, NY) assisted on 38 kills to surpass 900 for the second straight season. Junior Katie Kreilach (West Leyden, NY) added seven kills and two blocks and sophomore Katie Benson (Ashton, MD) added to her single-season school record for digs with 13.
