KNIGHTS END FOUR-GAME LOSING STREAK WITH 2-2 TIE at ST. JOHN FISHER

October 15, 2005

Rochester, NY - Sophomore Alicia Chace (Cortland, NY) scored with less than six minutes left in regulation to help the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team record a 2-2 non-league tie against St. John Fisher on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights moved to 4-8-1 overall, ending a four-game losing streak, all of which came within a tough conference schedule. The Cardinals record now stands at 4-6-2.

Junior Jinna Stugart (Schenectady, NY) scored her second goal of the season when she found herself open in front of an open net late in the first half, giving the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead at 43:03. St. John Fisher scored two quick goals midway through the second half, one coming at 62:08 and the other at 65:35, before Chace came through with her first goal of the season at 84:26. Catie Reed (Lafayette, NY) sent a long cross off a corner kick in front of the net where Chace was able to convert the game-tying goal. Neither team could muster much offense in the overtime, though the Knights did have five shots to St. John Fisher's one in extra time.

Reed's assist gives her six on the season, the most helpers for any player since Jen Rokosz in the 1992 campaign. Her 16 points, scored on five goals and six assists, this year are also tied for the 7th-most in a single-season at Clarkson.

Senior Lauren Arredondo (Allendale, NJ) and Meagan Emlaw (Norwood, NY) each saw their fair share of time in net for Clarkson. Arredondo played just over 45 minutes and stopped four shots while Emlaw made 10 saves in nearly 65 minutes of action. Stacey Gable played all 110 minutes for St. John Fisher, making six saves. For the game, the Golden Knights were out shot 26-14 and trailed 6-2 in corner kick opportunities.
