BASKETBALL COACH TOBIN ANDERSON HEADED TO HAMILTON

April 26, 2004

Clarkson University Men's Basketball coach Tobin Anderson has accepted the head men's basketball coaching position at Hamilton College.

Anderson, who posted a 67-66 record in five seasons at Clarkson, follows long-time Hamilton coach Tom Murphy, who recorded over 600 wins in 30-plus seasons for the Continentals.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Clarkson," said Anderson, "and I'm proud of what we have done in putting together a quality and complete program and competing against the best teams in the region. It's very hard to leave this unbelievable group of kids. Hopefully, Clarkson will be able to continue the success that we have worked so hard for here in the past five years."

In addition to Anderson, Clarkson assistant coach Matt Capell will also likely be headed to Hamilton.

The Golden Knights went 16-12 last season and shared the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) regular season title. Anderson enjoyed three winning seasons at Clarkson, going 14-12 in 1999-2000, 19-10 in 2001-02, and 16-12 this past season.
