KNIGHTS FALL ONE GOAL SHORT OF RIT

Liverpool, NY - Sean Pearce (Auburn, NY) and Marty Reid (Hamburg, NY) each scored two goals and added an assist, but a furious Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse comeback was stalled by RIT in a 9-8 loss Thursday afternoon at Liverpool High School.

The Golden Knights fell to 0-2 with the loss.

Clarkson trailed 6-2 at the half, but came all the way back and had what would have been the game-tying goal waived off with eight minutes remaining due to an offsides call.

Richard Burritt (Oswego, NY) scored two goals and Patrick Ryan (Canton, NY) added a goal and an assist for Clarkson. Mike McKenna (Camden, DE) also added a goal for the Golden Knights.

Chris Copeland scored four times to lead the Tigers. Zach Bednarz added two goals, David Thering scored a goal and an assist and Colin Jesien and Jon Manley each added a goal. Josh Molinari contributed three assists for RIT.

Joe Zebrowski (Liverpool, NY) made 14 saves for the Golden Knights, while John Foley made 12 saves for the Tigers.
