CLOUTIER POWER-PLAY TALLY ENDS FOUR-GAME WINLESS SKID

Potsdam, NY - With a first period power play goal, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team ended a four-game winless streak with a 1-0 non-league win over Niagara University Friday night at Cheel Arena.

The Golden Knights evened their record at 5-5-4 on the season and return to action tomorrow night when they finish out the the series against Niagara. The Purple Eagles fell to 5-7-1 on the year.

Freshman Jessica Cloutier (Parker, CO) deflected a shot by Amanda Dittmer (Chatham, ONT) at the 14:08 mark to give the Knights a 1-0 lead with a power-play tally. Lindsay Williams (Mississauga, ONT) also picked up an assist. The goal was Cloutier's third of the season, pushing her into a tie for the team lead in points (10). Dittmer's assist was her seventh of the campaign while Williams gained her third on the season.

Sophomore goaltender Kira McDonald (Pickering, ONT) made 31 saves for her first shutout of the season and the fifth of her career. Allison Rutledge made 22 saves for the Purple Eagles.

The Golden Knights went 1-for-5 on the power play while Niagara was 0-for-3. The Purple Eagles out shot Clarkson 31-23.
