Freshman Emily Emerick (Loudonville, NY) won at #1 singles and classmate Shannon Hopkins (Amsterdam, NY) won her match at #2 singles, but the Clarkson University Women's Tennis team could not come up with any more singles victories as the Golden Knights fell to St. Lawrence 7-2 Wednesday afternoon in Canton, NY.
Emerick won in straight sets while Hopkins won a three-set match for Clarkson. The doubles team of Emerick and Hopkins also came the closest to victory in doubles, falling 8-3.
The Golden Knights, who fell to 4-4 overall, return to action this weekend when they visit Wells College at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th.
