The Clarkson University Women's Tennis team improved its record to 3-2 with a convincing 7-2 victory at cross-town rival Potsdam State on Tuesday afternoon. The Golden Knights won five of the six singles matches and two of three doubles.
Freshman Emily Emerick (Loudonville, NY) remained unbeaten in her collegiate career at number one singles winning in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) vs. the Bears to improve her record to 5-0.
Senior Nicole Mikkelson (Jackson, NJ), junior Melissa Monson (Rutland, VT) sophomore Meghan Jones (Lake George, NY), and freshman Anna Sawyer (Sodus, NY) picked up singles victories at #3, #4, #5 and #6, respectively.
Monson and senior Katherine Cyr (Gorham, ME) along with Jones and Sawyer won in doubles play. The Knights take to the road this weekend playing at Union on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and at Russell Sage on Saturday at 12 noon.
