Potsdam, NY – Sophomore midfielder Micke Subotowicz scored midway through the first half as Hobart College defeated the Clarkson University Men’s Soccer team 1-0 in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) league game Friday afternoon at Clarkson Field.
Subotowicz fired a shot from 10-yards out after a thru pass from Danny Abroms. David Hennessey (Wading River, NY) made nine saves for the Golden Knights, most on line drives from inside the 18-yard box. Carl Fried made one save for Hobart, his first shutout of the season.
While the Golden Knights (2-7-2 overall, 1-3 UCAA) held the high-powered Statesmen (9-4 overall, 3-1 UCAA), who average over three goals per game, to just a single score, Hobart did enjoy a 18-5 advantage in shots and a 6-1 lead in corner kicks.
Clarkson returns to action at 2:00 p.m. Saturday when they face Hamilton at Clarkson Field.
