CLARKSON LACROSSE PLAYERS EARN UCAA ALL-STAR RECOGNITION
Five members of Clarkson University's men's lacrosse were recently named Upstate Collegiate Athletic Conference (UCAA) All-Stars. Freshman Rudy Perales highlighted the Clarkson selection by gaining first-team UCAA honors. A defenseman from Norriton, PA, Perales led the Golden Knights in ground balls, with 69 through 13 games.
Gaining second-team recognition were senior Dave Douglas and juniors Nick Masterpole and Tom Beattie. A native of Clay, NY, Douglas served as a Clarkson captain and scored 15 points on 12 goals and three assists while playing 12 games at midfield. The Knights' leading scorer, Masterpole scored 29 goals and 19 assists through 13 games. An attackman from Marcellus, NY, Masterpole has accumulated 124 career points (84-40). Beattie is a midfielder from Eliot, ME.
Freshman defenseman Breck TenEyck, from Fayetteville, NY was named an honorable mention selection.

CLARKSON CLOSES SEASON WITH 11-7 WIN OVER ST. LAWRENCE
Potsdam, NY - Junior David Jay (Orchard Park, NY) posted 17 saves in goal, while classmate Nick Masterpole (Marcellus, NY) scored three goals and added two assists to lead Clarkson University to an 11-7 victory over North Country rival St. Lawrence University in Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) on Hantz Field.
Clarkson jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the opening 15 minutes and extended its margin to 6-0 late in the second quarter on a pair of goals by Masterpole. The Saints tallied the final two goals of the first half to make it 6-2. The Knights outscored St. Lawrence 4-0 in the third quarter to hold a 10-2 lead after 45 minutes of play. The Saints closed the gap in the final quarter by outscoring Clarkson 5-1, but came up short as Jay posted nine second-half saves in the Clarkson goal.
Senior Shaun Felix (Brasher Falls, NY) and freshman Marc Douglas (Clay, NY) scored three and two goals respectively for the Golden Knights, while freshman Marty Reid (Massena, NY) added one goal and three assists. Senior Lucas Moore and junior Jeff Overman scored two goals and one assist each to lead the Saints offensively. The Golden Knights, who won their first game of the year, on March 11, snapped an 11-game losing skid with Monday's victory over the Saints to close out the season with a 2-11 overall record and a 1-4 UCAA mark. St. Lawrence, which suffered its fourth straight loss, falls to 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the league.

CLARKSON SUFFERS WEEKEND SWEEP
The Clarkson men's lacrosse team suffered losses to two Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) foes over the weekend. On Friday, at St. Lawrence University, the Golden Knights lost to Hamilton College 15-8 and on Saturday, the Green and Gold dropped a 6-5 decision to Union College at Hantz Field. Clarkson plays at cross-town rival Potsdam College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

Junior Nick Masterpole (Marcellus, NY) figured in on all of Clarkson's scoring Saturday at Ithaca with two goals and two assists in the Golden Knights' 13-4 loss to the Bombers (4-2). Senior Hank Kazmirski (Camillus, NY) scored Clarkson's other two goals.

The Clarkson men’s lacrosse team fell to 1-4 on the season after losing at 14th ranked Elmira College 17-11 on Saturday. The Golden Knights play their first game at home this Wednesday, April 5 when they host LeMoyne College at Hantz Field. Senior Shaun Felix (Brasher Falls, NY) led Clarkson offensively with three goals and three assists.

CLARKSON LOSES TO OHIO WESLEYAN
The Clarkson men’s lacrosse team fell to 1-3 on the season after losing to national powerhouse Ohio Wesleyan 19-6 in the second round of the Terrance O’Connor Tournament at Alfred University on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Knights, who lost to the host Saxons 11-8 in tournament first round action on Saturday, will play at Elmira College in their next game on Saturday, April 1. Ranked 9th in NCAA, Division III, Ohio Wesleyan, which defeated Potsdam 23-10 on Saturday, improved its record to 5-1.
In Sunday’s game, the Bishops jumped out to an 8-1 first quarter lead and never looked back holding a 13-3 halftime advantage. Junior Nick Masterpole (Marcellus, NY) led Clarkson with two goals and one assist. Senior Dave Douglas (Clay, NY) chipped in two goals.

CLARKSON MEN’S LACROSSE FALLS at ALFRED
The Clarkson University men’s lacrosse team lost in the first round of the Terrance O’Connor Tournament at Alfred University, falling to the host Saxons 11-8 on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights, who drop to 1-2, will face national powerhouse Ohio Wesleyan in the second round of the tournament at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. Alfred, which improved its record to 3-1 will face Potsdam on Sunday at 2:00 p.m..

CLARKSON WINS SEASON-OPENER with ONE-GOAL VICTORY over LYCOMING
Junior attackman Nick Masterpole (Marcellus, NY) scored five goals and assisted on three others to lead Clarkson to a 12-11 victory over Lycoming College (0-2) in its season-opener, played at Coyne Field in Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights return to action next Friday, March 17 when they battle Geneseo State at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, at 1:00 p.m. Senior Dave Douglas (Clay, NY) and freshman Marty Reid (Hamburg, NY) each chipped in two goals. Seniors Shaun Felix (Brasher Falls, NY), Hank Kazmirski (Camillus, NY) and Dan Scalisi (Auburn, NY) contributed a goal apiece. Sophomore Tom Sheridan (Fairport, NY) posted 16 saves.
