NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!! – For the second time in four years the Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team claimed the title of NCAA National Champions. The Golden Knights completed the best season in the program’s 14-year history by knocking off perennial powers Minnesota and Wisconsin in the 2017 Frozen Four at Family Arena on March 17 and 19 in St. Charles, MO to earn the right to hang another championship banner in Cheel Arena.

Clarkson defeated defending two-time champion Minnesota, 4-3, in semifinal action and then shutout number-one seeded Wisconsin, 3-0, in the title game to highlight a 32-4-5 overall record. The Knights' victory brought upon the Badgers their first loss in 23 games. Clarkson is still the only team from outside the Western Collegiate Hockey Association to have ever won the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey National Title.

En route to their second National Championship since 2014, the Green and Gold earned their third ECAC Hockey regular-season title with a 19-1-2 league mark and won their first conference championship tournament crown.
