ATHLETES of the WEEK - September 2, 2012

	Women's Soccer Katie VanDeValk Senior, Midfielder - Baldwinsville, NY Katie VanDeValk played a solid role at midfield for the Golden Knights this past weekend, and scored a goal in each game as Clarkson opened the 2012 campaign with a pair of victories at the North Country Lotto Classic at St. Lawrence. She tallied the lone goal in the Knights' 1-0 win over highly-rated Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday and added another score in the Green and Gold's convincing 6-0 victory on Sunday over John Jay.

	Volleyball Lani Durio Junior, Setter - Austin, TX Lani Durio, chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Springfield Invitational Tournament, ran Clarkson's young offense with an impressive level of skill, posting 51 assists in a five-set victory over 21st-ranked Springfield College and then added 31 and 28 assists, respectively, in three-set sweeps of Simmons College and Westfield State. Durio had 110 assists (10.0 per set) and four aces over the weekend to lead Clarkson to a 3-0 start.

	Men's Soccer James Cowie Sophomore, Forward - Malta, NY James Cowie scored his first career goal as Clarkson battled back to tie LaVerne University 1-1 in the opening round of the Lotto North Country Classic at Hantz Turf Field on Friday evening.
