SENIOR YEAR (2006-07)—A versatile player and perhaps the Knights’ fastest skater … Played the majority of the season at forward, but also filled in on the blueline when needed … Tied for most games ever played at Clarkson, skating in 152 contests, and recording 23 points (8-15) … Had one goal and six assists through 39 games this season … Last point was an assist on Clarkson’s third goal in 5-4 ECACHL semifinal win over Dartmouth (3/16) ... Sparked a solid effort by Clarkson’s fourth line in quarterfinal-series sweep of Harvard (3/9-10) ... Set up first goal in 3-0 win over Crimson in Game 1 ... Began his final collegiate campaign with a goal in season-opening 7-3 win over Niagara (10/6)  … Had a plus/minus rating of +4 ... Was was honored with Clarkson's Mike Morrison Coaches’ Award for teamwork, hustle and dedication.

JUNIOR YEAR (2005-06)—Tenacious forward who played a vital role on Clarkson’s checking line … Speedy skater who excelled on the Knights’ league-leading penalty-killing unit … Unselfish player who also saw time on defense … Scored fourth goal of the season to give the Knights their only lead in the ECACHL Quarterfinal series at Cornell with Clarkson’s second goal in 3-2 double overtime loss against the Big Red in Game 2 (3/11) at Lynah Rink ...Tallied first career shorthanded marker in 8-2 win over Brown (2/18) ... Tallied second goal of the season in 6-2 win over St. Lawrence (1/7) ... Also scored in season opener at Niagara (10/7).

SOPHOMORE YEAR (2004-05)—A versatile team player who skated the last 15 games on the blueline after playing the first 22 as a checking-line forward … Scored lone goal of the season in the Knights’ ECACHL First-Round series-clinching 4-3 overtime victory at Union (3/6) … Assisted on Clarkson’s lone goal in Game 2, a 2-1 overtime loss to the Dutchmen (3/5) … Also had one assist in 5-3 win at Wayne State (10/17).

FRESHMAN YEAR (2004-05)—Fastest skater in the Knights’ lineup … Played a vital role in Clarkson’s postseason success with a gritty effort on the Green and Gold’s checking line ... Skated in 39 games and recorded nine points on two goals and seven assists  … Scored first collegiate goal in 3-1 win over St. Lawrence (11/22) … Tallied one power-play marker.

BEFORE CLARKSON—Served as an assistant captain for TPS in Turku, Finland in 2002-03 under coach Mikko Sokka … Was TPS leading goal scorer (24th overall in league of over 400 players) with 11, and also added eight assists for 19 points through 30 games along with 63 penalty minutes … Played past five years in nationwide Finnish junior leagues.

PERSONAL—Son of Leena and Timo Kolu … Born July 14, 1983 … Shoots left … Business Management major … Has an older sister, Mona, and a younger sister, Camilla … Has completed his compulsory six-month military service in the Finnish Army … Father served as a doctor for Team Finland for many years, including during the 1991 Canada Cup … Likes majority of sports, including basketball, track and field and soccer … Lists Michael Jordan as one of his favorite athletes … Also recruited by Boston University.
