AT CLARKSON—A solid two-way forward, who was a steady contributor through four seasons ... An unsung hero, who led by example ... Possessed excellent vision, creativity and a thorough knowledge of the game ... Played 133 games at Clarkson finishing with 73 career points on 32 goals and 41 assists ... Well respected by his peers and coaches because of his commitment to the program ... A true stduent athlete ... Continued the fine tradition of Western New York players who have skated for the Knights.
“Murray has developed into a key member of our team. His hard work and diligence has been inspirational and is a major reason he will act as a captain this season. His energy and experience will prove to be a valuable asset. Murray is an effective communicator and will be relied upon to help the youthful players adapt to the rigors of Division I hockey. Murray saw considerable ice time last year and will be counted upon to be a major contributor offensively for us in his senior season. He is a key guy on the power play due to his ability to get the puck on the net and has a knack for being creative in the offensive end. He has added leg strength and improved his speed, which has made him a more effective checker. He should be a steady goal scorer for us throughout the year.”
SENIOR YEAR (2000-01)—One of Clarkson’s top threats on the power play, scoring eight of his nine goals with the man-advantage … Scored two power-play goals in 5-3 victory over Colgate (11/25) to gain selection to SIT All-Tournament team and ECAC Honor Roll … Has 19 points, including 10 assists.

Netted power play goal in 3-2 victory over Princeton (3/10) … Scored two goals and one assist in 4-0 win at Quinnipiac (3/8) … Tallied one goal in 5-2 win over Harvard (1/15) and followed the next night with two assists in the 4-1 victory against Brown (1/14) … Tallied winning goal in 4-1 triumph over Lowell (12/10) … Opened the season with three points (2-1) in sweep at Northern Michigan (10/22-23).
SOPHOMORE YEAR (1998-99)—Was hampered by injuries throughout most of the season ... Scored eight points on three goals and five assists through 21 games ... Was forced out of the line-up early in the new year with a hand injury and struggled to get back a regular role ... Best outing was a one-goal, one-assist effort in Clarkson’s 5-4 victory over nationally ranked Ferris State (12/12) ...
