RankedWSOC2023

Women's Soccer | 9/19/2023 3:34:00 PM

For the first time in the program's 42-year history, the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team has achieved a national ranking, breaking into the top 25 in the September 19th weekly United Soccer Coaches' poll.

The Golden Knights were receiving votes last week, but moved up to 22nd in the country when the poll was released Tuesday afternoon. Clarkson faced a pair of regionally-ranked teams this weekend, defeating SUNY Cortland 1-0 on Saturday, and tying then #14 Middlebury 1-1 on Sunday.

The Green and Gold are also ranked third in the region behind top-ranked William Smith and current #14 University of Rochester. The Golden Knights will not be able to let up for the remainder of the season, as the Liberty League has five other teams (besides Clarkson) ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Region III poll, including William Smith College (1), Skidmore College (5), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (6), Vassar College (7), and Ithaca College (8).

Clarkson faces Skidmore College in a battle of unbeaten teams on Wednesday afternoon at Hantz Field.
