CU Swimming & Diving Preview - vs. Oswego State (11/4)

For the second straight weekend the Clarkson University Swimming and Diving program will be at home, facing Oswego State on Saturday in its fourth dual meet in any many weekends.

The Series: Over the past five years, the Golden Knights and Lakers have met up on four occasions, with both the Clarkson men and women winning three of four times. Clarkson's men have won three straight by an average of 73 points, while the women have won the last two by an average of 79.5 points.

Top Swimmers for Clarkson: Junior Gabriela McSwieney has won multiple events two years in a row, winning the distance freestyle events a year ago (500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle) and two shorter races in 2021 (200 freestyle, 400 freestyle). Senior Bella Triolet has won at least one event in each of the past two meetings, taking the 100 freestyle a year ago and the 50 backstroke in 2021. Paige Cutler also won both diving events for the Knights last season.

Clarkson's men won a number of events last year, none more than Connor Tasselmyer, who took the 50 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, and 200 freestyle. Five other swimmers also won individual events against the Lakers a year ago, including Tim Jordan (50 freestyle), Michael Schroeder (100 backstroke), Max Lempert (3-meter dive), Guillermo Barrios (500 freestyle), and Tristan Miranda (1000 freestyle). Barrios also won the 200 freestyle in 2021, while Miranda had a pair of wins while swimming as a freshman, taking the top spot in both the 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle races.
