For most of this season, the Clarkson University Golf team has participated on some shorter courses, but this weekend the Golden Knights will be challenged at the par-72, 6914-yard Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The Team: The Golden Knights will be sending six golfers to compete in the Skidmore Fall Golf Invitational, as qualifying was tight for the last event of the fall semester. Freshman Ryan Makowski, a three-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week, will be seeking another chance at a conference nod with a good weekend in Saratoga Springs, as he now leads the team in scoring average at 77.1 strokes per 18 holes in 10 competitive rounds, including nine sub-80 performances. Andrew Palmatier is averaging 77.8 strokes per 18 holes and the junior shot 159 over two days at the event in 2022. Zander Poole is averaging 82.5 strokes this year, which coincidentally would match his score from a year ago in Saratoga (165). Freshman Eric Spoth has shot below 80 on five occasions this year and ranks third on the team in scoring average at 78.13 strokes. Daniel Wilson joins the team for the second straight weekend with an 80.17 scoring average and two 76s on the year. Zachary Bruno will be making his first tournament appearance outside of the North Country this weekend, as he has previously participated at St. Lawrence, Clarkson, and SUNY Canton. In those events, he has averaged 83.4 strokes per 18.
