Wednesday's tilt between St. Lawrence University and the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team may as well be the unstoppable force versus the immovable object, as one of the top offenses in the region faces one of the best defenses in the country in a Liberty League matchup in Canton, NY.

The Series: Clarkson has 13 wins in 64 meetings all-time against St. Lawrence, with the last victory coming in 2016 (1-0) at St. Lawrence. The two teams also battled to a 1-1 tie in 2019.

Key Stats for Clarkson (7-1-1, 1-1-1 Liberty League): The Golden Knights finally relented last week, giving up a single goal against Skidmore College in the team's lone defeat of 2022. The Green and Gold remains at or near the top of every defensive metric in Division III, allowing only .11 goals per game, a .968 save percentage, and eight shutouts in nine contests. Clarkson was the last team in Division III to allow a goal and remains one of only three teams to give up a single goal in 2022. Freshman Christian Silvano (792 minutes of a possible 810) and sophomores Kai Endo (749 minutes) have been workhorses for the Clarkson defense in front of first-year collegiate goalkeepers Josh Morelli and Carter Kladstrup.

Key Stats for St. Lawrence (6-1-3, 2-0-1 Liberty League): The Saints, on the other hand, are the top scoring team in the Liberty League by five goals (Vassar is in second place with 20 goals). Four players do the majority of the work for St. Lawrence, as last year's Liberty League Player of the Year Marvin Sibanda leads the team with 16 points on six goals and four assists, but is closely followed by Sam Pijpers who has 14 points with just two fewer assists. Miles Levy has also contributed 11 points on three goals and five assists, and Max Mogul has 10 points with four goals and two assists. The foursome has combined to take 82 of the team's 113 shots and 45 of the squad's 62 shots on goal.
