Madison Shea Voted CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 for Third Time

For the third time in as many years, Madison Shea of the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 honors thanks to her tireless efforts in the classroom and on the hardwood.

Shea becomes just the third women's basketball at Clarkson to be named to the CoSIDA All-District team on three occasions, joining former teammate Stephanie Grobe (2015-2017) and Mickala Henson (2005-2007).

Clarkson All-Time CoSIDA Selections

With a flawless 4.00 grade-point average in Engineering and Management, Shea has always been an easy choice for academic honors, but her outstanding playing career pushed her over the top for student-athlete awards. Shea started all 106 games in the past four years, setting a new standard for Golden Knights' basketball for most games played. She also finished 10th all-time in scoring (963 points), 15th in rebounding (510), fifth in assists (344), third in steals (241), 12th in both field goals made (352) and free throws made (210) and 13th in 3-point field goals made (49).

This past season, Shea ranked 14th in the Liberty League in scoring (11.2 ppg), 13th in rebounding (5.8 rpg), third in assists (3.5 apg), third in steals (2.0 spg) and fifth in minutes (33.6 mpg).

In the fall, four Clarkson University student-athletes were voted to their respective CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 teams. Rachael Aird (Volleyball), John Furcick (Men's Soccer), Kate Isaksen (Volleyball) and Madison Kather (Women's Soccer) each earned their honors in November 2017.
