With the highest scoring game of the season and the usual strong defense, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win over SUNY Canton on Tuesday night.

Clarkson improves to 4-2-1 this season while Canton continues to search for its first win and is 0-7-1.

Through six games, Clarkson had scored just five goals. However, in a two minute offensive explosion, the Golden Knights took a 2-0 lead. In the 38th minute, Justin Packard played a through ball to
Henry Gomez and Gomez was able to finish past the goalkeeper and into the bottom left corner to open the scoring. Just over a minute later, Chris Jupin ran onto a through ball form Kevin Calnan and tucked away his shot to double the lead. It was the first collegiate goal for both Gomez and Jupin.

Clarkson added a third goal in the 88th minute. It was Calnan again getting the assist as he chipped a pass over the last Canton defender. Eric Herberger then rocketed a volley into the goal for his first goal of the season.

Clarkson outshot the Kangaroos 15-8 and took 15 corner kicks to Canton's six. Michael King made five saves to complete his fourth shutout of the young season while Austin Lamay made six stops for Canton.

Clarkson will play its first home match in six games when the Golden Knights host RIT in the Liberty League opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon.
